Genç Beyinler Yeni Fikirler (Young Minds, New Ideas) Project Market and Graduation Projects Competition (GBYF) Cyprus will be held on May 8, 2026, with the participation of the Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, and related Engineering departments of universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The event is organized by the Turkish Informatics Association and the TRNC Information Technologies and Communication Authority, hosted by Lefke European University.
This year’s organization carries special significance as it marks the first time the event is being held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, following the 15th edition organized by the Turkish Informatics Association İzmir Branch and the 5th edition organized by the Ankara Branch.
Strategic Foundation and Vision
In line with the incentives of the TRNC Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, and within the scope of Article 3 of the cooperation protocol signed on November 18, 2022, between the TRNC Information Technologies and Communication Authority and the Turkish Informatics Association, the “Genç Beyinler Yeni Fikirler KIBRIS” Joint Exhibition and Competition of Graduation Projects will be implemented to contribute significantly to TRNC universities and the “IT Island CYPRUS” vision.
The organization aims to:
Strengthen university–public–industry collaboration,
Increase the national and international visibility of innovative projects developed by young talents,
Establish a sustainable technology ecosystem.
Scope of the Competition
Hundreds of undergraduate graduation projects will be presented to companies, investors, and participants. Innovative projects will be showcased, and the most successful ones will be awarded.
Within the scope of the event:
Project topics determined by companies will be matched with students,
A collaboration environment will be established for industry-based graduation projects,
Students will gain closer insight into the sector,
The sector will benefit from the innovative approaches of young minds,
Original ideas and technologies will be brought into the regional ecosystem.
Through this process, it is aimed that the region will become more prominent in the fields of informatics and electronics, and that the island ecosystem will gain international visibility.
National and International Participation
It is aimed that the projects to be exhibited will not be limited to the island ecosystem, but will also be presented for the evaluation of leading technology companies in Türkiye. In this regard, efforts are underway to ensure the participation of senior industry executives as jury members.
Previous editions of the event have attracted strong interest from investors and companies, leading to the emergence of new ventures and the integration of young talents into the sector. Detailed information about the exhibited projects and teams will remain accessible after the event.
